Japan car exports are done on a daily basis. Generally, this is done so they can be sold in other countries and locations all around the world. However, this is not something that can be done simply. There is a strict process that must be followed. There is also a lot of required paperwork involved. However, if exporting a vehicle from Japan is important to you; then none of this should create any issues for you.

When exporting a vehicle, you need to bring the vehicle as well as all required documents and submit them to customs. In this case, it would be the customs in Japan. Your documents should describe the vehicle in detail and include either the VIN or the PIN.

As far as documentation is concerned, it’s rather simple. You will need to submit the original document that shows proof of ownership to customs. However, if the document is written in Japanese; you will also need to provide a clear translation. You must provide customs with two full copies of this document. However, if you are exporting a brand new vehicle; then you must submit two full copies of a Statement of Origin provided by the manufacturer.

The vehicle and required documents must be presented to customs at least three days prior to exportation. This is because it will be exported by ferry. Once everything has been presented and verified, the vehicle will be all set for exportation.

As you can see, the process for exporting a vehicle is not all that difficult. There’s just a few steps and a little bit of paperwork involved. Once you get that out of the way, the rest is a breeze. Anyone can export a vehicle from Japan as long as they follow these steps and can obtain the required documents.
